San Antonio and New Braunfels are asserting their positions as destinations for Americans looking for a new place to call home. After being first last year, the Alamo City placed third on the list of largest numeric increases in population between July 1, 2021, and July 1, 2022, according to estimates published May 18 by the U.S. Census Bureau. San Antonio saw a 1.4% increase, a wider margin than the previous year's 0.9% figure. Boasting a numeric increase of 18,889 residents, it far surpassed last year's increase of 13,626.
